Printing FAQ

How are designs printed onto products?

All our clothing designs are printed on demand using the direct-to-garment (DTG) method. The DTG method is considered more sustainable than other methods since one item can be printed at a time rather than in bulk to avoid overproduction and textile waste.

Our suppliers’ printers use almost zero wastewater and NeoPigment inks that are water-based, biodegradable, and toxin-free to create a final product with a lower carbon footprint.

How do fabric blends impact print results?

DTG printing can look different depending on the fabric. It works best on cotton since it has a tighter fabric weave, so generally speaking the more cotton in a garment the more opaque a design will be. Some garments that blend fabrics can result in a less bold look than what you see in our product mockup images*, depending on the colour of the fabric and the ink. We've carefully chosen each item in our collection so the prints will look good no matter the fabric blend, but don't hesitate to reach out if you think there's an issue with your print.
How this may impact some of our products:
Items Results
  • Sweatshirts

Prints on these items can come out a bit less opaque due to the blend of materials (50% Cotton and 50% Polyester) and the thickness of the garments which absorb more ink.

Maroon sweatshirts: the white ink can come out a little pink on this colour due to the deep red garment.

  • Shirts

The heather colours of these shirts can come out a bit less opaque due to the fabric blend.

  • Heather colours: 52% combed and ring-spun cotton, 48% polyester
  • Black Heather: 90% combed and ring-spun cotton, 10% polyester
  • Athletic Heather: 90% combed and ring-spun cotton, 10% polyester

Note: The solid and heather prism colours are 100% and 99% cotton respectively.

*Mockup images are a digital representation of items to provide an idea of how they will look. Actual print results can vary.
